Salone Angel Network is an exclusive membership network of professionals, business owners, executives and corporations, at home and in the diaspora, who invest together in early-stage Sierra Leonean businesses.
Our thesis
The first cheque is the hardest to raise
Capable Sierra Leonean founders struggle to secure early capital. Banks require collateral that young companies do not have. Larger funds look for mature businesses, or write tickets far bigger than an early-stage company can absorb.
The result is a gap between a promising business and an investable one. SAN exists to close it by organising early, patient and hands-on local capital — money that arrives with judgement, governance and networks attached.
Because members invest their own money, they invest carefully. Their local knowledge and relationships allow them to remain close to the businesses they back.

Structure and governance

Secretariat
A professional team that sources and screens businesses, coordinates due diligence, prepares memos and supports members and investees.
Members choose each deal independently
SAN does not pool capital or invest on members' behalf. Each member decides whether to participate in a given opportunity, and investments are made through member consortia or deal-specific special purpose vehicles.
